Through examining Alvaro Siza's Swimming Pool project, an attempt has been made in this project to emulate the emphasis of journey. Using architecture to encourage movement through space in a directed, deliberate manner,
in this case, to emphasise the corner bakery located in Wolloomolloo, Sydney.
Against the tight site located in Wolloomolloo, Sydney, this Bathhouse project is the based on a precedent study
of Louis Kahn's Trenton Bathhouse, adopting the idea of each space providing a unique bathing experience.
At the same time however, an organic, stone pathway provides a gentle undulating journey through the different baths.
First project involving precedent study, focusing on the conceptual projects of Mies Van Der Rohe: The concrete house and the brick house. The mapmaker's studio examines how spaces might be organised without the use of doors and how views maybe directed using planar walls.
